concerts and cookies

derek webb will be playing in oxford, ohio on april 9th, 10pm, at kofenva. [side note: we got rid of the buzz -- or was it just buzz? it's been too long -- plopped a starbucks into the old subway building, then got a different coffeehouse with a goofy freaking name?] unfortunately for me, april 9th is a SUNDAY and oxford is over three hours away. derek, derek, derek... could you not have done friday or saturday? just for me? i am weeping and mourning. how lovely it would have been to hear you in the very town where i spent my formative years of christianity [uh... for better or worse]. oh, it would have been perfect. however, i promise to forgive you if your april 29th show -- a SATURDAY at 7PM -- in columbus does not sell out before i purchase tickets.

um, anyone want to see derek webb with me on april 29th?

in other news, my order for girl scout cookies arrived yesterday. thin mints and peanut butter patties... mmmmm. a conversation i had with a med student after leaving work with boxes in hand:

c: oh, man! you got girl scout cookies?

m: [beaming] yup. they just came in a few minutes ago.

c: [shakes head in disgust] shoot, i can never find anyone that sells them anymore. ahhh, you have thin mints...

m: [starts drooling]

c: dude, those things are addicting. they're like cocaine or something.

m: oh my god, I KNOW... they're like crack patties.

So why can't you come to Oxford on a Sunday? Although, that does seem like an odd day and time to play. Can't help you with the new name, sorry, that's pretty sad. Good luck.

well... you know. that whole work thing on monday morning. i don't think i'm willing to give up vacation time to see a concert... even if it IS at the alma mater. but i think you should go, and report back to me about it. :) so, where is this kofenva place at now, anyway? is that the one where looney t's used to be?

Does this mean you're coming to Columbus? How could I not go with you then. Count me in.

Caramel Delights are my personal fave.

And if I lived in Ohio, I would totally go see D Webb with you. I love him.

tb - sweet!

meegs - i fancied the caramel delights once upon a time. however, the thin mints and peanut butter patties [aka tagalongs? wtf?] have since won my heart.

thin mints out of the freezer!
i watched a movie at a friend's place on tuesday night & he only bought 1 box so he wouldn't eat three whole boxes himself. he kindly allowed me a fair ration. still waiting on my own gs cookie order.

My librarian (meaning the person I work for, not my local public library librarian) ordered three boxes of Thin Mints from one of our students. When they came in "the lib" put them in our office freezer, and by the end of the school day we'd eaten all three boxes.

You totally lose track of how many Thin Mints you've eaten. We were, like, want another cookie? Sure. [Reach for the box.]Um....they're all gone. [We shake the empty boxes just to be sure they really are empty.] No way. How many did we share with the staff? None...I think. Oh.[Our eyes dart back and forth.]

It's unbelievable, and quite shameful.
