closeup

so i got a new [to me] monitor today. it's larger than my old one, though not extraordinarily so. however, given its size, it sits far closer to me than my old one [yeah, it's an old school crt]. i now feel like my head is actually INSIDE THE SCREEN. i could take my contacts out and probably still be okay seeing this thing. i think i'm getting a headache.

Complain about eye-strain and tell them you need a high-end LCD (like an Apple Cinema Display) to avoid lost time from work occupational injuries to your eyes. It sounds like I made that up, but eye-strain is a huge deal among office workers and a sharp LCD can make a big difference because it doesn't flicker like a CRT.

ha. i like the idea, but try telling that to the docs who don't even understand why they need accountants in the first place [much less needy accountants with eye-strain and high-end lcd needs]. meh.
