summer storms

took a walk on the ridges with a friend this evening. she mentioned at one point that she had always wanted to get caught in a sudden rain while running... this was about ten minutes before we heard a thunder roll. predictably, it began raining shortly after we had turned around from our farthest point, and our walk quickly turned into a run. we couldn't run back the whole way, so we finally gave up, slowed down, and enjoyed the refreshing turn of events.

my clothes are STILL hanging up, slightly damp. but it has turned out to be a lovely, relaxed evening, and a good time drying out.

Funny. I took a walk in the rain with a friend yesterday too, although I did it on purpose. We started walking, sans anti-rain gear, after it started raining just so we could enjoy getting drenched as passing motorists gawked at our apparent ridiculousness. It was great fun; one of my favorite things to do.

Beautiful. This sets such a mood. I love the moment when I give up trying not to get wet and just surrender myself to enjoying the rain.

Sounds like a great evening, mdog. Getting caught in a summer storm--whether accidently or on purpose--can be such an exhilarating experience. Makes you wonder how so many adults forgot what they knew to be true as children--playing in the rain is fun. So is cycling in the rain, in case anyone wondered....

I love running in the rain.

It was raining all day yesterday, and so all day I'm anticipating running in the rain. By the time I got home from work and got changed, it was just a little mist/drizzle. I was kind of disappointed, but a little rain is better than nothing, and they were predicting that the rain would die down by early evening anyway.

Well, then I arrive home, change and depart for dinner with friends not even a half hour later. And what is it doing? Raining hard, again.

Damn you rain and your NOT perfectly timed hour of stoppage!
